Drugstore Cowboy
[And no, I am not going to rob a hospital or pharmacy]
I’ve suffered from migraines for about 10 years and for about 8 of those years, I’ve had some sort of insurance. This is a year that I don’t and I almost fell out of my chair when I found out the price for a medication my doctor just prescribed.
Now, I went to the doctor in part because The Good Shit that I take for migraines is prohibitively expensive ($306 for 9 tablets). She admittedly said she wasn’t sure how much this was but this new stuff makes $34 a pill sound pretty cheap.
8 nasal spray cartridges: $861.
About $107 a pop right there. As my partner reminds me, “That’s cheaper than going to the ER” which is very true. But still. This shit is expensive.
