I think I’m one of 3 people on Tumblr who is watching the NBA All-Star Game festivities. I just saw the Skills challenge and each player was seated next to a young kid who looked like they were in high school. The whole time, I’m thinking they’re trying to do the “include the children” thing that soccer does but then Tony Parker wins the damn thing and turns out that the girl that was presumably from San Antonio (the team Parker plays for) just won a college scholarship for $25,000. Daaaaamn.
If I was the kid that was paired with Kyrie Irving or John Wall, I’d be so pissed. If there ever was a “I’m too cool to try so I’m just going to slowly go through the motions of this game” moment, it was Kyrie and John. Thanks to their lackadaisical performances, some kids in Cleveland and D.C. are out $25K!
